Christine Sanderson

Born in Chicago, IL

Christine Sanderson began her career as a painter in mid 1990 at parties called "Jetset Artists," to introduce Chicago socialites to artwork by making it approachable and fun. Since then she has also become a mother and business owner of an upscale consignment botique, LeThrift.com.

Modern and often considered Pop, her work combines both oil and spray paint to capture her human and urban subject matter. Her influences range from the frenetic abstract and surreal to landscapes and figurative art.

In 2005, Christine won the first Live Art/Gen Art competition to have her work featured in a solo show. Her work has also been printed on tins for Camel Cigarettes. In 2006 she was invited to create a mural with Carl Schurtz Highschool students with a grant from the Oppenheimer Foundation. W Hotels featured her work in Chicago and Dallas in 2007 as part of their W Happenings Series.
